Now in its second year, Chicago Craft Beer Week features dozens of tastings, beer dinners, brewery tours, and new brew debuts between May 19 and 27 (chibeerweek.com). A Beer Passport, available online and at all events for $10, serves as a guide to the week’s events and a ticket for a few featured events each day (the rest are open to the public and don’t require a passport); it also allows the bearer to earn prizes. Beer Under Glass The biggest of the many Thursday kickoff events, with a couple dozen breweries filling glasses and some nearby restaurants dishing out small plates. Thu 5/19, 5:30-8:30 PM, Garfield Park Conservatory, 300 N. Central Park, $40 online, $50 at the door if available, ticket includes a passport.
Beer and Sausage Six beers from Great Lakes and Founders will be on tap, with complimentary sausages to go with them. Tue 5/24, 6-9 PM, Map Room, 1949 N. Hoyne, 773-252-7636, open only to passport holders.
