Paul Kelvington, who founded Minutemen tribute band Econoline in 2010, has rounded up buddies Kevin J. Frank (Haymarket Riot), Adam Reach (Poison Arrows), and Jay Ryan (Dianogah) to perform as the Fugazi tribute Instrument. Though this Wolf could joke that most of Frank’s bands have sounded like Fugazi tributes, this time it’s for a good cause. On Sun 6/3 at Lincoln Hall the four-piece will perform 13 Songs and donate the proceeds to help Girls Rock! Chicago buy 20 drum sets. The camp provides a week of music instruction and girl power to wannabe rockers ages 8-16—and of the more than two dozen similar operations in North America, it’s one of the largest and fastest growing, and sorely in need of more equipment. (Gear donations are always welcome.) The first session starts June 25, and a few spots are still open for the second.
